Men who are very sexually active in their twenties and thirties are more likely to develop prostate cancer, especially if they masturbate frequently, according to a study of more than 800 men published in the January issue of BJU International.
However the UK research team also found that frequent sexual activity in a man's forties appears to have little effect and even small levels of activity in a man's fifties could offer protection from the disease. Most of the differences were attributed to masturbation rather than sexual intercourse.
The study, led by the University of Nottingham, looked at the sexual practices of more than 431 men who had been diagnosed with prostate cancer before the age of 60, together with 409 controls.
Men who took part in the study were asked about all aspects of their sex life from their twenties onwards, including how old they were when they became sexually active, how often they masturbated and had intercourse, how many sexual partners they had had and whether they had had any sexually transmitted diseases. While indecent broadcasters should not allow inappropriate programming for children especially when their standards do not reflect the majority of American families, Super Bowl ads and entertainment should be reviewed by the FCC. In addition, are we sacrificing our daughters to rape during the Super Bowl frenzy, or are we just in denial from it's surrounding lawlessness? While the celebrated Super Bowl game is related to numerous activities, family fun, sportsmanship, and male aggression -- families and police should carefully watch over our females and children for violations. And remember -- Nancy Grace's conversation with another reporter who felt dog fighting crimes were worst than rape. This mind set of a few shouldn't influence us -- just because unreported rape is already over 79% across the country. Nancy Grace reports - Some expert legal opinion being rendered is that of a CNN sports journalist. All that immersion in the macho sports culture, it clearly does things to a man’s values. (I’m being extremely charitable here, and assuming that Larry Smith had any to start with.) SMITH: Yes, well, that’s — he’s been in a lot of trouble lately, when you think about all the other incidents, and this is just the worst one of all. Keep in mind, too, that while Kobe Bryant is a situation we can sort of compare this to, this really is much worse. …. Read On |

SEX CRIMES TAMPA – With thousands of people heading to the Bay Area for the Super Bowl, law enforcement agencies are cracking down on criminal activity. The Tampa Police Department has launched a Super Bowl sex crime sweep. “The sun rises in the east, and hookers come into town during Super Bowl,” said Capt. Bret Bartlett. He says the main difference since the last time Tampa hosted the Super Bowl is the internet. Super Bowl escort ads are all over the world wide web, with tag lines like, “Hello Tampa, I just got in town” and another site offering “Super Bowl specials.” Bartlett says the extra advertising only makes things worse. “You can go to Craig’s List right now and get somebody to fix a roof and [also] find out where hookers will be here in Tampa,” he said. Police say it doesn’t matter if you pick a girl up on the street or phone for an escort, the dangers are the same. Bartlett says sexually transmitted diseases aren’t the only thing you should be worried about. “Whoever is running these girls may decide to go into your room and

rob you,” said Bartlett. His advice is that you avoid jail and just enjoy the game. Strippers are also headed to the Bay Area for the Super Bowl. The big question is if officers will enforce the law requiring dancers stay six feet away from patrons. The last time the game came to town it was enforced. This time it appears as if it will not be as big of a deal. “Public safety will be the priority over strip clubs, the six foot rule, and other adult business related offenses,” said Andrea Davis with the Tampa Police Department. SEX CLUBS There's Diamond Dolls and Bare Assets and the Wild Gentlemen's Club. In fact, there are, by one count, 43 strip clubs in the Tampa metropolitan area — one for each Super Bowl. And the week of Super Bowl XLIII is to Tampa's naughty nightlife what Black Friday is to America's shopping malls. All the exotic dancing joints have earned Tampa a bawdy reputation — the lads' magazine Maxim even put it on its top 10 list of best U.S. party cities a couple years ago, based mostly on the two score and more night spots to see naked or nearly naked women. Now, with at least one spot planning to have a tent in the parking lot to handle the overflow of free-spending tourists, locals expect to profit mightily through kickoff Sunday evening. "Based on what we did last Super Bowl (in 2001), the numbers will quadruple during that weekend," says Nick Polefrone, general manager of 2001 Odyssey, a landmark club known for the spaceship-shaped VIP room rising from the top of the building. Across the street is Mons Venus, a joint that is listed among the best strip clubs in the world by users of a Web site called The Ultimate Strip Club List. Read On |

SEXUAL ABUSE CASES WASHINGTON (AP) - The Army said Monday it is expanding its attention to sexual abuse cases by
adding prosecutors, rearranging its criminal investigative unit and stepping up training to change behavior. The moves, which will include sexual assault prevention training from commanders on down through the ranks, are aimed at stemming crimes that Army Secretary Pete Geren called "repugnant to the core values" of the military service.
"We see the crime of sexual assault as a crime that goes beyond just the criminal act," Geren told reporters at the Pentagon. "We see it as a crime that destroys unit cohesion."
Last year, an estimated 15 percent of about 9,000 Army investigations involved sexual assault allegations, said Brig. Gen. Rodney Johnson. However, only 137 cases went to trial, with many cases involving inappropriate comments or other offenses that were punished by internal disciplinary action instead of criminal charges.
Reports of sexual assaults had jumped by about 24 percent in 2006 and nearly 40 percent in 2005. Officials attributed the increases partly to more aggressive efforts to encourage victims to come forward.

SATISFYING INSTINCTS ROME — An Italian judge wrote in a decision that a British student killed in Perugia was the victim of a plan by her assailants to "satisfy their sexual instincts" that then got out of control, a news agency reported Monday. The ANSA news agency said the finding was contained in Judge Paolo Micheli's written explanation of his October ruling to convict one of the three suspects in the slaying of Meredith Kercher. In Italy, judges issue explanations of their decisions months after they are handed down. It was not immediately possible for The Associated Press to obtain a copy of the ruling after business hours. Micheli sentenced Ivory Coast national Rudy Hermann Guede to 30 years in prison after he underwent a fast-track trial at his request. Two other people, American Amanda Knox and Italian Raffaele Sollecito, are on trial on the same charges of murder and sexual violence in Kercher's 2007 death. All three have denied any wrongdoing. Kercher was found stabbed to death Nov. 2, 2007 in the apartment she shared with Knox in Perugia, 115 miles north of Rome, where both were exchange students. Read On |
