Attorney ask AARP: Stop Promoting Better Sex Videos

Photo of Robert W. Peters Yesterday, after receiving a telephone call from the Centers for Decency informing him that the January 2009 AARP Bulletin contains an advertisement for Better Sex videos, Morality in Media president Robert Peters, an attorney in New York city, sent a letter to AARP CEO William Novelli and AARP President Jennie Chin Hansen, asking them to stop promoting bettersex.com products to AARP members. The letter stated:

Perhaps you were unaware that that www.BetterSex.com is connected to Phil Harvey, founder of Adam & Eve, which is one of our nation's largest pornography businesses. I hasten to add that Newsweek (Bob Cohn, "The Trials of Adam & Eve," 1/7/91) described Adam & Eve as "one of our nation's biggest mail-order pornography companies" and said that Harvey "buys his tapes and magazines from porn manufacturers in California."

During the Reagan/Bush administrations, Harvey and his company, PHE, Inc. (the parent company of Adam & Eve) were indicted in North Carolina on state obscenity charges and in Utah on federal obscenity charges and might have been indicted in Kentucky on federal obscenity charges had they not obtained an injunction preventing the Kentucky indictment. The Justice Department's strategy of bringing multiple prosecutions against a major pornographer was challenged in court, but that doesn't change the fact that Harvey & PHE were indicted. Had new Attorney General Janet Reno not decided to stop enforcing federal obscenity laws altogether, Harvey and his hardcore porn business may have been convicted on federal obscenity charges. In a few short days, President Obama will assume our nation's highest office. Amidst all the Inaugural Day festivities, Obama has chosen to pay fitting tribute to America's Great Emancipator.

On January 20, 2009, President Obama will re-trace part of the Lincoln Inaugural route by train, and then take the oath of office using the Lincoln Bible. But will the homage to Lincoln stop there?

We would invite the new President to consider the full Lincoln legacy as he swears to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence that provided its spirit.

If President Obama would indeed meet the test of Lincoln's principles, then his policies must affirm that unborn children are "stamped in the divine image and likeness". For if God has endowed us with unalienable rights, how can President Obama pursue policies that assume unborn children can "be trodden on"?

Please throughout the month of January as we observe Sanctity of Life Month and affirm the inherent dignity of all Americans--born and unborn. Tony Perkins reporting.

Imagine taking your kids to the local video store to pick out a movie. As you scan the titles, you see that Dakota Fanning is in one of the new releases. It's rated "R," but your kids loved her in Charlotte's Web, so you figure it couldn't hurt, right? Wrong. Once you watch the movie, you realize that it not only sexualizes young children, but it also depicts a nine-year-old being raped by a teenager. That's pretty much the storyline of Hounddog, set to be released by Empire Film Group on DVD February 3, 2009, in retail and rental stores in communities across our nation. The distribution group states in a press release that the "video pre-orders from major retail accounts have already doubled the company's initial shipment forecasts, and indicate a strong commercial appeal for the film." Stores that you know and trust will be stocking their shelves with this dubious film, but you can stop them by making a call to their local office. Read On

Obama Supported Gay 'Marriage' before He Opposed It 'Is this what Obama supporters meant by change we can believe in? 'A gay-activist newspaper in Chicago has discovered that President-elect Barack Obama supported same-sex "marriage" during his run for the Illinois Senate in 1996. Conservatives and liberals alike seem irritated by the flip-flop.In 1996, Outlines newspaper, which merged with Windy City Times in 2000, surveyed candidates for all levels of elected office. Obama's answer was very clear: “I favor legalizing same-sex marriages, and would fight efforts to prohibit such marriages.” But with an eye on the White House, Obama quickly dropped his support for gay "marriage" in favor of civil unions. More recently, he has said marriage is a religious issue and a state issue. "I wonder, is this what Obama supporters meant by change we can believe in?" asked conservative talk-show host Sean Hannity. Obama's transition team has had no comment on the report. Jenny Tyree, marriage analyst at Focus on the Family Action, said: "I wish this was a change in policy we could take seriously, but unfortunately, Mr. Obama's actions do not support the lip service he's given to marriage. He did not support the state marriage amendments that passed in November. "His position on marriage seems to be one of political expediency rather than personal conviction." Jennifer Mesko with FOTF reporting.

SELLING HER VIRGINITY Not only, what if this guy has STDs as a 22-year-old woman is selling her virginity online — offering her body to bidders nationwide in an auction that reportedly has netted a $3.7 million offer — and the law isn't doing a thing to stop her. The FBI isn't interested. The U.S. attorney doesn't care. Everything is fine by local police, and she isn't breaking any laws. That's because Natalie Dylan, a made-up name for a real 22-year-old California college grad, is marketing her maidenhead in Nevada, where prostitution is legal. But some religious legal groups are objecting to the sexual sale, saying they are concerned that its influence may reach beyond the borders of the "Battle Born" bordello state. "It does seem crazy," said Mathew Staver, director of the Liberty Center for Law and Policy. "The rest of the country has an interest in stopping that kind of activity from spreading from Nevada to their home state." Staver said because the bidding was being conducted online, federal law could be applied to stop the auction from going through. "Nevada has been out of step with the rest of the country for many years with regards to prostitution, and that's why I think it's important for federal prosecutors to look into this, so that Nevada does not dictate the morals and moral decency for the rest of the nation," Staver told FOXNews.com. 22-Year-Old Sells Virginity Online -- and Feds Can't ...

MIRACLE IN NEW YORK —  Investigators brought in a giant crane and a barge Friday to help pull a US Airways jetliner from the Hudson River, one day after the pilot heroically brought the disabled plane to safety with 155 people aboard. Federal officials will now focus on recovering the black box from the plane and interviewing the crew about the accident — apparently caused by birds that slammed into the plane. The Airbus A320, built in 1999, is tethered to a pier on the tip of Lower Manhattan. The investigation comes as more tales of panic and heroism emerged Friday. The parents of a 3-year-old girl and a 9-month-old boy recalled how they braced themselves for the crash-landing and escaped from the fast-submerging plane. "It's good to be alive today. It's hard to believe we just survived that," the father, Martin Sosa, told NBC's "Today." As amazement about the "miracle on the Hudson" turned to questions, a team of 20 National Transportation Safety Board investigators began looking into how Thursday's bizarre near-disaster happened.
